Season kickoff tournament featuring teams from across Orange County and surrounding areas. Perfect for first-time competitors with beginner tutorial sessions available before matches start.

Tournament Day Timeline

7:30 AM - Check-In

Team registration and robot inspection

Submit required paperwork, get your team number, and pass robot inspection to ensure compliance with rules.

8:30 AM - Opening Ceremony

Welcome and competition overview

Team introductions, game explanation, and schedule review. Great networking opportunity!

9:00 AM - Practice Matches

Test your robot before competition

30-45 minutes of practice time on official competition fields to test systems and make adjustments.

10:00 AM - Qualification Rounds

Compete for ranking points

5-8 qualification matches throughout the day. Each match lasts 2 minutes plus setup time.

2:00 PM - Alliance Selection

Top teams pick partners

Highest-ranked teams select alliance partners for elimination rounds. Strategic decision-making!

2:30 PM - Elimination Matches

Playoff bracket begins

Single or double elimination tournament to determine the champion. Intensity increases!

4:30 PM - Awards Ceremony

Robot Requirements

  • Size Limits: Must fit within 18" x 18" x 18" starting configuration
  • Approved Parts: VEX Robotics Competition legal parts only
  • Motors: Maximum quantity per game rules
  • Inspection: Required before each competition
  • Safety: No sharp edges, projectiles, or unsafe mechanisms

Team Conduct

  • Sportsmanship: Respect opponents, judges, and volunteers
  • Fair Play: No intentional damage to other robots
  • Professionalism: Appropriate attire and behavior
  • Safety: Follow all venue and event safety rules
  • Integrity: Original design work, no plagiarism
